Rules

These rules are a combination of the contractual requirements of our pool Management Service, as well as those required by the American Red Cross, the CPSC, the Health Dept., and our Insurance Provider. Some rules are also based on the physical size of our pools.

Facility Safety Rules
  • Granite Recreation Corporation facilities are for use by current members and their guests only. Guests must be with a current member. Each individual (regardless of age) must be signed in at the guard’s desk at the gate. The Corporation is not responsible for the personal property of members, dependents, or guests, which is left, lost, damaged or stolen on Corporation property. Any Corporation property willfully damaged by any member or guest will be repaired or replaced at their expense.
  • All accidents must be reported to a lifeguard immediately.
  • GLASS IS NOT PERMITTED.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  Members (or guests) that bring glass will be asked to immediately leave (with their glass) for the remainder of the day.
  • Cigarette smoking is allowed only in designated areas and cigarette butts should be placed in appropriate containers. Trash receptacles and recycling containers are available for your use around the facility. Please use them!
  • Unsupervised children must be at least 12 years old, able to swim a length of the pool, and be sufficiently well-behaved not to disrupt the staff or bother other members. Children 11 and under must be supervised by someone 16 years old or over while on the property. Disruptive children will be sent home.
  • No members, guests or employees are allowed down by the quarry, on the railroad tracks or on the recreation building roof.  First time offenders will receive 2 weeks suspension with parental notification. Second offenses will result in the offender being suspended for the summer. Employees who engage in any quarry or railroad track related activities are subject to immediate dismissal.
  • Abusive or profane language, threats, or breach of peace will not be tolerated anywhere on association property.
  • Pets are not permitted inside the fenced pool area or on the tennis courts.
  • Please keep all personal listening devices at low volume.  If music can be heard by an adjacent table, the lifeguards will ask you to turn it off.
  • Members will not be allowed access to the pool or playground areas before the scheduled opening time. All members must vacate the pool and playground areas no later than the posted closing time.
